As you will no doubt be aware by now, Netsky LIVE! will be coming to the USA and Canada between Thursday 4th April – Saturday 13th April. This is a once in a lifetime chance to see one of the hottest names in dance music performing tracks from his critically acclaimed album “2″ with the full live band. It’s a pleasure to welcome South London singer Syron to the run of Netsky LIVE! shows from 28th February – 2nd March, including the flagship show at the Kentish Town Forum in London on Friday 1st March. Syron has soared to success in a a short space of time; a Brit School graduate who has captured the imagination of press and punters, she is now signed to Black Butter Records and has impressed with her solo releases “Breaking” and the forthcoming “Here”. We’re super psyched to see Syron on stage so we took 5 minutes to catch up with her beforehand. Here’s the lowdown..

Who is Syron?

I’m Syron I’m from South East London and after leaving the Brit School I started making music that’s a mixture of the influences I’ve grown up listening to from house and garge to R&B and soul.

How did you get involved with Black Butter Records?

I first got involved with Black Butter after featuring on a track with Rudimental with MNEK. We did a duet on a track he wrote called “Spoons”.

Can you tell us a bit about your new single “Here”?

“Here” is an uplifting and feel good song; it’s about being busy and working about but still being there for the people I love. It’s still got a house vibe but also a slight reggae feel.

You’ve got a really cool sense of style – where do you get your clothes from?

To be honest most of my clothes are from car boot sales and eBay; I like to wear things that no one else has I also love doing swapsys with friends and English brands like isolated Heros, Kowm and Meat.

What can we expect from your performance at the Netsky LIVE! shows next week?

You can expect it to be lots of fun; I always perform with Grace on mpc and keys and backing vocals and Midge who DJs the set live. They’re my good friends so its always like a party on stage and I LOVE to dance!

We’re very pleased to announce a new addition to the line up for the Netsky LIVE! show at The Forum, London on Friday 1st March in the form of up-and-coming star Dimension. Dimension is a young D&B producer who has been grabbing our attention recently and his recent release on Cyantific’s self-titled label has brought him to the attention of the masses. We have been vibing out to “Midnight Love” and are excited to witness his DJ skills at The Forum in Kentish Town next Friday.

Who is Dimension?

Hi! My name is Rob, I’m 21 years old and I’m from the town of Weybridge in Surrey. I make dance music full time but specifically drum and bass. You may know me from songs such as ‘Digital World’ and ‘Synth City’ which came out on Cyantific Music.

What can we expect from your set on Friday 1st March?

I make and play out music that is generally suited for the dance floor. My aim is for people to have a good time, cut some shapes but at the same time hopefully appreciating the music.

What do you think are the defining aspects of your productions? How do we recognise a Dimension tune?

Judging your own music and stamping a certain sound can be hard when it comes out of your fingers. I’m not sure if I’ve put out enough records to really establish a true ‘Dimension’ sound, although maybe some people would disagree. Saying that, I’m a 90s kid through and through but what really seems to inspire me is 80s sounds. I’m not really sure where it comes from though, but those wide detuned pads just lure me in! I would also definitely say there are funk elements in my tracks and I generally like to treat samples and vocals a little differently to what some might consider the ‘norm’,

What are your favourite things about Netsky?

Why are you looking forward to supporting Netsky LIVE! ?

Like most people I’ve been listening to Netsky tunes as soon as they emerged on the internet. To see a bedroom producer take it all the way to the level Boris has taken it, and specially with this new live show, is real inspiration to producers like myself. What I particularly like is the fact that his success has been based purely on the quality of his music and the fact that he’s not scared to try new sounds out. I’ve seen the live show before and it really is like a proper band, it fits together brilliantly and it’s great to be a part of that.
